QFIS is an architecturally iconic building situated in the heart of Doha Education City and it offers interesting technical challenges such as two modern-style minarets of 80 m high, a roof that comprises curved and symmetrical GRC panels laid onto a multilayered roofing system, and a 27 m high stainless steel water curtain hanging from 3D-generated structures in a cylindrical format recognised as the highest manmade waterfall in the world.
Consisting of a 30-storey luxury hotel featuring unitized glazed façades with LED lighting and the 12-story elliptical residential development where the façades consist of high-end custom features such as aluminum vertical fins, an acoustically enhanced lift, slide doors and curtain walls, a custom-made unitized system for stone cladding, and riding towers emerging from the central roof area with a custom-made elliptical look of the towers.
